Indiana Guard to train unit in agriculture for Afghan mission (The Times of Northwest Indiana)
Indiana National Guard members will be trained as agricultural educators next week at Purdue University for deployment to Afghanistan. The mission is to help Afghan farmers and agribusinesses improve productivity. The 28-member unit will be trained in irrigation, crop production, soils assessment and livestock management. Indiana is one of five states preparing units with agriculture experience.
