ALMATY, June 10 (Reuters) – Kazakh metals company Kazakhmys said on Wednesday it had suspended zinc production at its Balkhash plant in Kazakhstan due to low demand. It said in a statement that demand for zinc concentrate exceeded that for finished zinc products and described the plant’s suspension as “planned”. Kazakhmys also said it would reconstruct and modernise the facility.
